Having a Google+ profile is considered a “must-have” thing for small business ventures. That’s because the platform works concurrently with Google Search.
A Google Plus profile has the potentials of improved search ranking on Google. And at the same time, it has the potentials of drawing in more prospective customers by delivering key business information.
Here are a few Dos and Don’ts of using Google+ that you can use as a form of guideline to grow your business online.
Take special advantage of the SEO value
This is where Google+ becomes unique. This is where it stands out from the rest of the social networking platforms. That’s because it’s the social network of Google itself.
The biggest benefit of Google+ is the automatic inclusion of SEO value. You can take advantage of this by combining your Google+ Local page with your Google+ Business page.
By doing so, you will see your business rise more to the top during location based Google searches.
Use visual content more than plain text
Visual content is capable of generating more engagement from audience than plain and traditional text.
Adding relevant images and videos related to your business will keep users engaged on your page. This might result in more lead generations. The more, the merrier.
Create stand out posts
Be creative and stay original. Format your posts with italics, bold and indentations. Include visual content that can grab attention in matter of minutes.
Use hashtags in your posts but don’t overuse it. Two or three hashtags can do the job. You will benefit immensely from these practices.
Target your prospective audience
It might look simple on the hindsight but honestly, it’s not. You have to do your homework, do some research on your internet audience. This is pretty time consuming but you can be sure of one thing though. You’ll definitely reap the benefits after a period of time.
First and foremost, you must find out whether your Google+ content’s reaching the right audience or not. What do your potential customers like about your business? What are their geographical locations? Are they mostly male or female?
You have to get these answers and once you get them, you will be able to streamline your campaign more effectively and efficiently.
Invite reviews from old customers
Positive reviews help to build credibility. Try and earn as many positive reviews you can get from your old customers. Send them your Google+ link and request them for a review.
Note: Positive reviews are not guaranteed. You might very well get negative reviews in case certain customers are unhappy with your services/products. In such cases, handle the situation effectively with proper solutions. Proper solutions can get the case in your favor.
Neglect your Google+ profile
You must pay special attention while setting up your Google+ business page. Ensure that you do not miss out on any key business-related information.
DO NOT skip any significant detail and add as many photographs of your business as possible. This helps to build trust in your customers.
And do try and be regular on this platform with regular posts and shares. Neglecting your Google+ page after setup will do you more harm than good.
Wait for prospective clients/customers to come to you
Google+ is an open platform which is extremely good for business purposes. It enables you to interact with your customers even if they don’t come to you on their own accord.
Facebook, on the other hand doesn’t permit you to interact with your clients through your FB business page unless they come to you first but Google+ allows you do so. Take advantage of this.
Offer them incentives (like discounts, coupons etc.) on Google+ by approaching them on your own. Your customers will definitely love them.
Spam communities or individual users
If you feel that you have been posting a lot of information on Google+ that might look annoying from the outside, you probably are right in that aspect.
People who spend their time on Google+ can smell spammers from a mile away. And if you get blacklisted as a spammer on Google+, it will be very difficult to regain the credibility you probably had in the past.
Having a Google+ business profile is more than capable of giving your business the boost it needs in terms of sales and credibility (if it’s used in the right way). Just make sure your follow the rules above as closely as possible. It’s time we bring this to an end for now. Ciao!
