The job of a social media marketer is never done. The motto of doing the maximum within the minimum amount of time compels him/her to innovate and improvise new ways of generating maximum impressions among the target audience.
However hard s/he works each day, it always seems like there’s always something more to do. There’s always some scope of improvement here and there that might have been overlooked in the process. So you can very well see the value of time in his/her job. It’s priceless. Proper time management becomes the only key to achieving targets to perfection.
In here I have compiled a few time management tips specifically for social marketers that can actually do the trick nicely if you do it the right way. Let’s go through them without further ado.
1. Focus on those tactics that have the maximum impact
Most digital marketers lose a lot of time to distractions and interruptions. Try to bring this lost time down to the bare minimum. The first step to do that is to chalk out those tactics of yours that give you the maximum results.
Remember your social media management time may vary according to your campaigns. Say, today you are getting only 3 hours for your social media campaigns, tomorrow you might get only a fraction of that as a result of pressure from other marketing campaigns. So what should be your priorities?
Your priorities should always go to the aces that you have up your sleeve especially when your social media is concerned. Chalk them out, implement them first and then if you have a few more minutes in your hand, experiment with a few more. Now that5’s what I call effective time management.
2. Schedule posts for publication
Many credible scheduling tools are available in the market that can be used for this purpose of yours. Some of the examples are:
Scheduling social media content can save you a lot of time and effort that you can use in other important aspects of marketing such as engaging with your followers and users and so on.
Sometimes, you might be required to post content at unusual times of a day depending on the time zone of your campaign geographical locations. What would you do in such circumstances?
What would you do if the situation calls for you to publish a content at 12am midnight order to generate maximum user engagements? Scheduling tools can be the easiest solutions in cases like that. If this is not defined to be an effective time-management, don’t know what is.
3. Reduce distractions
Like I already highlighted above that one of the most significant problems faced by social media marketers is distraction. Try to reduce it to the bare minimum specially when you are doing your job. Here are a few tips for you:
Close your email and concentrate wholly on the social platform that you are working at that moment.
Close other browser windows and tabs however insignificant it might appear to be. Your browser should display only a single tab bearing the name of the profile that you are working on.
Disable chat and close them further to avoid distractions.
Turn down the music or better turn it off completely at least for the time being.
4. Record creative ideas
“If I knew where inspiration came from, I’d go there more often.” -Leonard Cohen
So what does Cohen suggest in that statement mentioned above? It means you can’t predict when you might come up with a creative idea. A creative idea is a bit like an accident. It might come anywhere anytime without any prior notice.
Hence, it’s advisable to have something close to you where you might be able to scribble and record your idea as soon as you come across one. Creativity comes in this manner only. It comes and goes within a short time. So recording them in a jiffy is the key to incorporating them in your work.
Small things like that can go a long way indeed. As a result, you might also be able to generate quality engagements within a short time.
Social media management is a demanding job indeed. Effective time management’s the only way to keeping issues at bay and completing everything within a pre-designated time. Hope these time-management tips come in handy for you. Ciao!
