However, it’s a history today. Infocom 2010-11 needed to set a new global benchmark and Softz Solutions again made a wining statement.

Countdowns Didn’t Finish Yet:

Yes, this time Infocom 2011 was bigger. Bigger than what we thought it to be. Not just because, the number of speakers, delegates and visitors were more this time at Salt lake stadium ground. At least for Softz Solutions – the branded Indian SEO company, the counts still move on. Yes, we are still in the process of figuring out business prospects and visitor’s enquiries. The experience was heart throbbing, the business response was outstanding and people’s enthusiasm on us surpassed all of our expectations.

The Factors That Differentiated Us in the Event:

Softz Solutions as a team is proud to be the part of India’s one of the most promising ICT mega event Infocom 2011. Not to surprise, we were the only exhibitor representing leading Search Engine Optimization service provider in India. Yes, it sounds well, but quite challenging. The target was to confront public expectations with our domain experience.

Our Theme Was – If you have a commercial website and your target clients are online, we are there to help you get visible on Google’s top result pages.

We Had A Single Voice Throughout The Days – Your customers are educated enough not to get trapped by overboard marketing. Do something that people rely on; do something that people like by nature. The days are gone when web users were used to be tempted with online ads, pop ups or unsolicited mails. Think of wider space to build your reputation online.

It is a good that top notch people realized and started thinking otherwise. The message was clear to them as we had rightly conveyed it.

How We Did:

As a company branding and awareness campaign we did pretty well. In fact, this was the first time we came in public in India. And, the way business-minded people and enthusiasts greeted us, we are overwhelmed.

The event showed us a new horizon. Top CEOs, MDs, Directors of Indian ICT companies wanted us to be their online marketing partner.

Of course, the post event analysis is still on. And, already good number of potential clients visited our office for joining hands. We appreciate their concern and effort, making us proud to be your trusted SEO service provider in India.

You may have read the elaborate post on footer links at SEOmoz published last year. After going through many experts’ views and comments on this issue I have thought to share my take on using footer links on a website.

It’s about Usability…

Commonly, footer links are a way to implement internal links throughout the pages. There can be a debate over the issue on how Google values footer links. But links of important pages in the footer improve usability and accessibility to an extent that you can not ignore. Remember, the links used with targeted keywords is able to pass some link juice to your internal pages, which is good from SEO standpoint as well.

So, good Styling is necessary…

However, styling the footer is one thing you should take seriously. The design must be neat enough and easily understandable at a glance.

List styling that shows links in hierarchical order is always good from design perspective. Multi-column layout with prominent column titles and adequate space between columns adds to visual appeal.

Adjusting keywords in the anchor text may add some SEO benefits. But that should not be done at the cost of usability when one link wraps to two lines reducing the clarity of visual separation.

The common and Important elements are…

You may have used attractive color schemes and nice design layouts. But some irrelevant bad links can mar all your honest efforts. Let’s take a look at the common but important elements required to design effective website footer.

Sitemap

Usability is of ultimate importance while designing website. You should design for the user first. If it is good for the user it will be good for search engines as well. No matter how small your site is and how minimalist your design, providing a link to site map will always help.

About Us

There should be an About Us link on the footer of commercial websites, because people often scroll down to footer links for information about the company. It will be of good use if you provide company information accessible from all the internal pages.

Contact

The same is true about the Contact page as well. So it is good to include Contact page link to the common footer of the website.

Important Pages

Finally, you need to include links to pages that makes the site really valuable. It could be some important product or service pages that are specifically targeted for the primary keywords.

Google is back into action with Google Friend Connect – another social network platform for websites (and of course blogs) without going anywhere else.

Ok, it is not just another social network as we have seen so far. As Google puts it – “Google Friend Connect provides a core set of social gadgets such as member management, message board, reviews, and picture-sharing”. And everything is there in a small java script so no coding required.

It would integrate your friends from other networks like Facebook, Linkedin, Google Talk, hi5, Orkut, or Plaxo apart from integrating with other open social applications.

So now, you can try to connect with the end users of your website in a better way and even connect with their friends.

Google Video was a big flop and they had to buy YouTube. Now, when Yahoo has bought MyBlogLog, Google has moved forward with a highly promising network.

I agree that, Google Friend Connect is a lot different from other networks like MyBlogLog or BlogCatalog – but in essence it is also a promotional network like these two. Isn’t it?

Let’s wait and watch:
