Google has always been trying to make our life easier. Till date there is no exception to it. Whether it is instant and latest search results, custom look and feel of Gmail or social media engagement by G+ – you will never repent on Google’s service. It is all for user’s benefits, for you me and everyone on web.

Next time when you log on to Google analytics of your website you will understand why and how.

The new version of Google Analytics is real teat to your eyes and minds. You can literally do much more with your analytics data –far advanced and far in detail that you never thought of. The look and feel has also improved drastically. Right from your analytics dashboard to reporting format everything has got a new appearance that you are sure to like and recommend others.

Webmasters and website owners are the most fortunate ones in this regard. They can enjoy playing with crucial data in any form and anytime they want. This was never before earlier. It gives you so much of freedom, flexibility and fairness while dealing with site analytics.

The added features are also worth mentioning. Not only you can track your visitor’s profile like a hawk but also can do business conversions in better way. If you want to surprise your client with a complete set of site audit report this new version can get you right on job.

Well so much has been told about its usability benefits. Now let us see what actually the changes are:

1. Speedier Report making -

Google has announced three new features to improve data crunching during report generation. Now you can watch your reports load faster. There will be a visual indicator that will show the progress of loading. Now your reports on Google analytics will load once and it will be visible on your computer as long as it is open. You can just click on refresh report and see the updated one. You can also control your report calculation with the help of fast-access mode. It does not matter if the report requires calculation on 2, 50,000 visits, you get highly accurate data in return.

2. New languages incorporated –

Now Google analytics is available in 9 new languages. In total it is 40 languages. So from next time there is no reason to repent if you are a Serbian or a Hebrew. To change the language of your analytics account you have to activate the new interface and then visit settings page. From there you can select the new language.

3. Visitor’s flow view –

This is something to make you feel overwhelmed. Visitor’s flow view provides a graphical representation of traffic source – both ups and downs. The graph is highly interactive as you can hover over the node and get information at a glance. Such visualizations give you better picture and more resourceful insights on how to engage users during promotions.

4. Goal flow view -

This allows site owners to set a target for better traffic conversion. After you define the goal steps and page group of interests you can track how visitors navigate each of the steps that you. Thus the goal view tells you how visitors interacted with your site and they were dropped off.

5. Social media review -

Now measuring social media influence of your website is even easier. Just by viewing social engagement section you can see how many visitors of you are socially engaged and how many are not. You can also measure site usage, Ecommerce value and ad sense revenues of your site. Counting +1d of your G+ account is also easy with new analytics available to you.

There are more Google analytics has in offer for you. Whether it is the advanced look of your ad words account, introduction of multichannel funnels, options of custom report making or measuring G+ effect on your site – Google is always at your service.

So next time, when you log on to your analytics account make sure you have activated new version of it. Say good bye to older version today only.

The influence of social media is growing stronger over online marketing industry because no one can deny the power of recommendation. Small businesses and companies try to create a niche on the seek recommendation from there for promotion and branding. Facebook was reining the social media marketing kingdom so far. But now it seems that its monopoly will be put to an end with Google+, Google’s new social media site indicating the evolution of SEO from organic, general pattern to more specific community oriented.

Within 2 weeks of its launch Google Plus has gained 10 million users and the number now reached to 20 millions. What is more interesting is that some websites have come up with ‘exciting offers’ of ‘Google +1 for Sale!”. You can get 50 to 2000 +1 clicks for your site by spending for a good buck.

The Questions
But the questions that are abuzz on the web are -

• What is the future of SEO with Google +?
• How is it going to affect SEO?
• What features of Google Plus can benefit SEO?
• How +1 can lead to better ranking?
• How to add +1 button to my site?

The Side Effects
SEOs are concerned about how the use of Google +1 button can be manipulated and how spammers can misuse it (one case is already mentioned above). And website owners are in a hurry to embed Google +1 button in their websites.

Plus One Reporter, a Google +1 automatic link checker is already available in the market. An internet software development company has built this utility software capable of generating report on the Google +1 count for a list of URLs.

Google+ Features that can Influence SEO

Now coming back to SEO, currently, there are two features in Google Plus that might prove beneficial in terms of SEO.

+1 Button: The +1 button as Google has mentioned is a way to tell your friends and acquaintances that “you should check this out”. While you plus-one a website to help your friends to find what they are looking for the plus-oned website definitely gets an advantage with this recommendation. So far it is available as long as you are logged in to your Google account.

Sparks: The Spark shows a bunch of recent news and updates of your interest. It not only quarries the most recent updates from the web it also provides user an option to share it in his/her circle. With this feature Google again establishes the importance of freshness of content.

Unlike Facebook that emphasizes on the most recent activities and creations Google’s search engine counts the age of the domain as a ranking factor. Now Google pioneering the world of search it is quite expected that the search engine giant may try to integrate its social media recommendation with its organic searches to take online search to the next level. Though keywords will be used to perform searches but the metrics of keyword selection will see some changes.

Google has taken another significant step to protect internet users from cybercriminals. Once again Google has proved its supremacy over the internet with its new ‘hacker alert’ for searchers. From now on, Google search result pages will show notifications about a website if Google finds anything suspicious about it.

The search engine giant has upgraded its search process by adding more automated hacking detection tools to provide users the better and the safer result for their queries. The warning message “This site may be compromised.” hyperlinked to Google’s HelpCenter, will be shown right beneath the website’s link on a search result page for a hacked site. The new alert service will also help webmasters to get quick reviews of their hacked sites. Once the problem is fixed it will stop showing the warning label.

Thanks Google for making web search safer than ever!

With Google recently launching its own URL shortening website URL shortening has made it into the trending topic of discussion among SEO professionals. Today there are several URL shortening websites with bit.ly and tinyur being the most popular ones. However, squeezing URLs to save space for micro blogging or social media sites and giving long dynamic URLs a more concise and uniform structure is not the only purpose that the URL shortening tools are used for these days.

Where Goo.gl is different from the others…

Benefits of Shortening URLs

Tools such as bit.ly already give its users a host of facilities including statistics containing the total number of decoding or click on the shortened URL. Using these utilities users get short links that are permanently redirected (301 Redirection) to a given website. Some URL shortening services offers customizing links using keywords which proves beneficial from SEO perspective as well. These utilities already provide a complete package for shortening, managing and sharing your URLs.

Where Goo.gl is different from the others…

Now the question is what extra does Google’s URL shortening service is going to offer its users? Well, Google claims goo.gl to be the simple and fastest URL shortening service and the most reliable too. Users are simply get blinded with the shortened URLs as they don’t get any clue before clicking the link that where it will redirect. But, with goo.gl you will receive warning message whenever the ‘short URL’ directs to a malware or spam site. You need to sign in to your account to view the history of your short URLs based on the timeline.

It has been more than 7 days since Google confirmed the influence of site speed in web search ranking. Site speed is a signal that Big G is considering with many others and it may not be a strong ranking factor as of now. But the ball has started rolling – if the webmasters do not review site speed now and take suitable steps to make them load faster, it may be too late!

Here are some free tools (suggested by Google) that can be used to test and improve site speed:

PageSpeed: Open source Firefox/Firebug add on

YSlow: A free tool by Yahoo!

WebPagetest: Page performance and optimization checklist

Besides, the Site Performance check in Google Webmaster console helps to find out the areas that can be improved. Many other tools and information on how to make your website faster are available at http://code.google.com/speed

The comments below the announcement show a mixed opinion about the change. Some are happy as the speed gets importance, whereas, some are concerned about the websites that contain images, videos and flash files. People have also asked how Google will take care of the sites that are slow because of the Google Analytics code snippet!

There is no reason to think that Google will not improve the algo. Let’s wait for the Speed Part II to be released!

How much time your website takes to load is a factor Google is likely to consider to rank your website!

Just think: a user runs a Google search, Google displays the results, and then when the user clicks on a link, it takes several minutes to load the page! Why should Google list such a web page that annoys its user? Logical!

Slow websites are bad for your users also. When someone with dial up connection visits your website and the page takes so much time to load, chances are high that the user will leave your website. So, you are losing visitors because your website is slow.

Google is so desperate to enhance user experience that they are going to introduce a new internet protocol, name spdy (should be pronounced as speedy) which is supposed to be many times faster than http. It’s own optical fiber based private internet is in beta or something. What else do you need? Get ready to type spdy://www.google.com/ in near future.

Are you one of those who believe that Social Media cannot return satisfactory profit and that investing in Social Media is a total waste of money? Then this post is for you!

You simply cannot ignore social media anymore; if you do then you are going to lose something for sure. Google has integrated real time search with its web search. Logged in users can see relevant updates from their social networks.

In a video Google has described that this integration will help people find ‘What’s happening right now?’ and ‘What’s happening nearby?’ very easily. Watch the video here.

Now comes the SEO point of view: isn’t it an easy way to make it to the first page of the search engines? If your website is new chances are high that it will take some time to rank high for relevant searches; but if you have an active network, you can actually appear on the first page throughout the day. For this you have be a super-active node on various social media platforms preferably on those Google is fetching data from.

Even if someone is not getting quality traffic from social media, they can get a strong web presence by staying active on social media and networking websites. Now, how to get quality traffic from social media is a different topic; will discuss more on it later. Keep visiting us.

With Google Analytics coming loaded with a bunch of more advanced features it is thought that Google Page Rank Checker will lose its importance to Internet marketers. More powerful, flexible and intelligent, the new Google Analytics enterprise-class makes internet marketing more enjoyable. How? Here is an excerpt.

Google Analytics now lets you set two new Goal types – Time on Site and Pages per Visit. This feature, according to Google, will help you measure “user engagement and branding success on your site”.
